Within my scope of work, I have achieved several significant outcomes. First, I successfully created and implemented a project charter that laid the foundation for integrating doulas into the County hospital system, addressing a vital gap in maternal care. Second, I researched potential federal and private grant opportunities that my department can apply to, for this project and other health equity efforts. Third, I curated and presented a robust legislative file for the Board of Supervisors that underscored the urgency and importance of gender-affirming care, providing empirical support for a resolution dedicated to this cause. Additionally, my leadership during a strategic planning meeting ensured the alignment of the Center for Diversity and Health Equity and the Center for Learning Organization with Director Leilani Jones' vision and laid the foundation for their work in the future as they undergo organizational changes.

Moreover, I formulated a detailed template for the annual Health Equity Report, taking into account and ensuring compliance with several regulatory benchmarks including California State Law AB 1204, the Joint Commission, and federal mandates. In a bid to enhance patient care, I delved deep into research on social determinants of health, which culminated in a collaboration with the electronic health record system, Epic, to include critical screening questions. My research endeavors equipped Valley Medical Center with a synthesized department equity planning template, greatly aiding their health equity planning efforts. My template was used and I played an active role in a strategic planning session for the Maternal Child Health Department centered around bolstering community engagement, addressing health disparities, and promoting equity learning to increase equity in the department. Lastly, to further enhance organizational efficiency, I introduced an internal project tracker, providing greater transparency and project alignment.
