  • Personal Statement - to be written by the student.
    • Please describe your interest in the County’s Government Fellowship Program, reason for specified program interest and future career goals. Please include how your life experiences, and personal perspective will: (1) Contribute to the County of Santa Clara’s mission to plan for the needs of a dynamic community, provide quality services, and promote a healthy, safe and prosperous community for all; and (2) Support the County’s declaration that racism is a public health crisis, and its embracement of utilizing a racial equity lens as a key operational factor to identify and potentially eliminate barriers

Information Required by the Student Application

  • Major/Minor, if declared​
    • If undeclared, provide interested fields of study
  • Extra-curricular activities/interests/community involvement
  • Preferred term
    • Length of term (up to 10 weeks)​
    • Summer months availability (June, July, August, etc.)
    • Days of the week availability (Monday, Tuesday, etc.)
    • Daily hours of availability
    • Scheduled vacation(s)/requested time off
  • Stipend request amount and justification in support thereof
  • Specified program interest(s)
    • Board Priority, Policy, and/or Initiative
    • County Department with High Demand Job Classification​​​

Please note:

  • Selected Fellows will be required to enter into a Stipend Agreement with the County
  • The County will pay selected Fellows on a bi-weekly basis
  • Selected Fellows may be subject to a background check, fingerprinting, and/or a physical exam
